Investigative Context Services
Bureau of Missing Context.
"You were missing context. We found it. You may wish we hadn't."
You submit a situation, statement, decision, or event that doesn't make sense. We investigate. We find the context. We deliver a Context Report.
Warning: the context usually makes things worse. Not always. But usually. The missing context for why your colleague was promoted is that they applied for the job you didn't know was open. The missing context for why the project was canceled is that the client mentioned it in a meeting you weren't invited to. We find it. We tell you. What you do with it is your own concern.
How It Works
Situation Intake
Describe the situation. What happened? What doesn't make sense? What question are you trying to answer? The more specific you can be, the more specific we can be. Vague situations produce vague context. This is not a limitation of our service.
Investigation
We investigate. Our investigators are thorough, methodical, and sympathetic but not protective. They find what they find. They do not filter findings for palatability.
Context Report
We deliver a Context Report. The report contains what was missing, where we found it, and what it means for your understanding of the situation. It does not tell you what to do. Context is not advice. Context is just the rest of the picture.
From a client
"I submitted the situation. They found the context. I described it to my therapist as 'clarifying in a way that made things worse in a way that was technically helpful.' That is accurate."
